DIMEBAG's 'Dime ML War Camo' Now Available From DEAN GUITARS
December 13, 2007Dean Guitars has announced the release of the Dime ML War Camo, an American-made production piece of an ML that late PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott modded out prior to his death. Most recognizable is the famous Dime 333 symbol.
Thirty years ago, Dean rocked the guitar world with the introduction of the ML body design. Combining elements of the most radical guitar bodies available at the time, Dean created a unique masterpiece that has remained a rock icon to this day. According to metal guitar legend Dimebag, "Dean doesn't make guitars, Dean makes weapons," and for most of his career the Dean ML was Dimebag's weapon of choice.
The American-made ML War Camo is crafted from a mahogany body emblazoned with a hand-airbrushed, distressed, camouflage finish. The Camo finish is continued on the trademark Dean headstock, complete with a stenciled "DIME" imprint and the instantly recognizable Dean wings. The guitar features a locking Floyd Rose Tremolo, Grover tuners and two humbucking pickups; a Seymour Duncan Dimebucker in the bridge position, and a DiMarzio Super Distortion in the neck position. A three-way switch on the lower horn selects the pickups, and further tone shaping is handled by the Dimebag Traction knobs via two volume controls and a master tone control. An ebony fingerboard with pearl block inlays cap the 24 3/4" scale neck.
The Dime ML War Camo lists for $5,889 and comes with a hardshell case.
